Practice FAQs
My child is unavailable to practice on XYZ day, who should I tell?
Since the summer swim season is so short, we do offer daily practices, but do not consider them required. We would love to see your swimmers as often as possible, but understand that things happen. You can email [email protected] if you so desire, but the coaches do not expect to see every swimmer every day. Just do your best to attend as many practices as you can!
Can I leave my child alone at the pool?
For our younger swimmers (< 10 years old), please ensure that a parent is present (or responsible for your child) both before and after their practice starts. We do not have a lifeguard on deck nor is there a coordinator always present to oversee child behavior. Outside of a child's actual practice time, everyone is present at their own risk.
How will we know if practice is cancelled due to inclement weather?
Practice will only be cancelled in the case of thunder, lightning, or rain that is hard enough that we can't see the bottom of the pool. In the case of thunder or lightning, the pool will be closed for 30 minutes. We will do our best to send out an alert through SwimTopia - this will come across as an email, or an alert through the SwimTopia app, which i encourage everyone to download - you can sign up your child for the swim meets, sign up for volunteering, and see all communications from coaches / coordinators.
